About this Event
This one day course has been designed for anyone who has completed the Peak Outdoor Coaching Introduction to Navigation Course (or a similiar beginner's course) and is ready to take the next steps. If you have a basic understanding of the map and you can plan simple routes following designated footpaths, but you're ready to build your confidence further, this course is for you. The day aims to give you the confidence boost you need to explore more and become even more self-sufficient in the outdoors.
Course Outcomes:

- Pacing and timing
- Understand contours
- Compass bearings
- How to relocate
- Navigating moorland terrain

Safety:
I like to make my hikes and courses as enjoyable as possible for everyone, so I keep a slow and steady pace. It's about enjoying the process at a pace that is comfortable for all and taking in our surroundings, not racing to the finish. It is important that you are responsible for your own health and safety when you're taking part in any outdoor activity. If you are unsure as to whether you are fit to come on these hikes or courses, please either consult your doctor or let me know your concerns.
I am a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader and I am level 3 Outdoor First Aid trained so I will be on hand in case of an emergency.
D ogs:
I'm afraid dogs are not permitted on these courses.
