We are very excited to announce our first Manawa Hui!
Creative Flow // Tall Poppies Storytelling is an immersive event designed to unleash your creativity and connect you with a supportive community.
This evening promises to be a blend of movement, improvisation, and true storytelling.
-Doors open at 6pm-
Opening Circle
Creative Exercises: Expressive activities that ignite your creativity and prepare you for storytelling.
Movement Warm-Up: Begin with gentle movements to awaken your body and connect with your breath.
Improv Prompts: Engage in playful improvisation exercises
Tall Poppies Storytelling:
The Storytelling Theme of the night is: “Letting Go”
Tell us your 5-7 minute stories about overcoming fears, saying goodbye to things that don’t serve you anymore, quitting, finding outlets for loss, changing perspectives, taking risks, and anything you’ve done to LET GO. First times naked, last times you took abuse, saying goodbye to freedom and hello to responsibility, or finding yourself in movement on special nights (and days.)
“Letting Go” is a catch-all theme designed to help you think of stories about personal change.
Listen to some stories from The Moth ( https://themoth.org/) for inspiration<3 You don’t have to memorize a story but it helps to do a bit of preparation so you can feel motivated to share.
You don't have to tell a story but we'll have room for at least 7 folks to share who express interest on the night.
Closing Circle: Reflect and share your experiences in a supportive circle, ending with a gratitude exercise and a calming meditation to help you transition back to your daily life.
Manawa Hui is a safe space where we as "non" artists (if you ask us, we are all artists!) get to be creative, be heard, seen, and form authentic connections through the arts.
