The City of Edmonton has given us the following guidelines for what we can and cannot accept:
* Acceptable general waste materials: Household waste, wood based furniture, toilets, sinks, pallets, etc.
* Acceptable yard-waste materials: Grass clippings (compostable bags if bagged), branches, leaves, mulch, and cones. We cannot take logs or stumps.
Materials that are NOT allowed: Mattresses, any metals such as white goods (appliances), BBQ's, furniture with metal/steel in it, rebar/steel, any batteries, lightbulbs, electronics, any items with batteries or cords, any hazardous wastes like asbestos, or liquid/chemical wastes (paints, oil, coolants, etc.)
Prohibited Items: Tires, Propane tanks and cylinders, Hazardous waste, such as chemicals or cleaners, Electronic waste/E-waste, Batteries, Paint and solvents, Motor oil and automotive fluids, Biological or medical waste.
