Have you ever had a positive or negative experience on a shared-use path? Is there somewhere you'd like to go but don't feel comfortable using? What would make shared spaces work better for you, your family, or your community?
Join us for a community conversation exploring how shared-use pathways and public spaces can become more welcoming, accessible, and inclusive for everyone across Carmarthenshire.
Drawing on insights gathered through community discussions, observations, surveys, and stakeholder engagement, this event will bring together local people, community organisations, and decision-makers to explore experiences of shared spaces and work collaboratively towards practical solutions for the future.
You don't need any specialist knowledge or previous involvement in the project. We want to hear from people with a wide range of experiences and viewpoints. Whether you walk, wheel, cycle, run, use mobility aids, push a pram, or simply enjoy spending time outdoors, your voice matters.
The event will also be an opportunity to meet new people, connect with local groups and organisations, and learn more about the activities, support, and opportunities available within our shared spaces. Whether you're already a regular user of pathways and public spaces or are interested in becoming more involved but would like to build your confidence first, this is a welcoming space to start conversations and make connections.
A Unique Venue with a Story to Tell
The event will take place in the historic Llanelli Goods Shed, a remarkable part of the town's industrial heritage. Originally built in 1875 for the Great Western Railway, the Goods Shed played a vital role in Llanelli's development, receiving and dispatching goods by rail until its closure in 1966.
Today, thanks to extensive restoration work, this iconic building has been given a new lease of life as a vibrant community venue. Visitors can experience a unique blend of past and present, including preserved railway features and exhibits that showcase the building's rich history and its importance to Llanelli's industrial story.
Free refreshments and light bites will be provided throughout the afternoon, creating plenty of opportunities for informal discussion, networking, and sharing experiences.
