Make Your Way Wednesdays: guided walks for Golden Valley residents, using art to build confidence exploring the landscape.
About this Event

Make Your Way Wednesdays are a new series of walks for Golden Valley Residents, designed to help you feel more confident moving through the landscape, with art as a tool for exploration.

Guided by an experienced walk leader and artist, these two hour long walks will take you through the valley’s winding lanes, open farmland and wooded hills. Along the way, we’ll pause for breaks and you’ll be introduced to simple, creative activities in response to our surroundings. No artistic experience is needed – activities are there to help you see, feel and experience the landscape differently.

Walking style: These walks are leisurely, but will sometimes take us off the beaten track. There will be pauses to catch our breath and take in the scenery, within the 2 hours. Upon booking your first walk, Sarah Price will take details about your health and any access requirements.
This walking series forms part of Our Place Golden Valley project and is designed for Golden Valley residents only. The project covers a number of council wards and parishes, including those adjacent to the formal Golden Valley boundaries. If you are a resident in any of the following Parish Councils, then we welcome you to join Make Your Way Wednesdays.
Golden Valley North and Golden Valley South wards, all Parish Councils:
Abbeydore and Bacton Group, Clifford, Cusop, Dorstone, Ewyas Harold Group, Kentchurch, Longtown Group, Peterchurch, Vowchurch and District Group, Wyeside Group.

Stoney Street and Wormside wards, selected Parish Councils:
Allensmore, Clehonger, Eaton Bishop, Kilpeck Group, Kingstone and Thruxton Group, Madley.

If you are living just outside of these and feel you would benefit from the programme, please email [email protected] to discuss

About the artists:

is a contemporary artist whose work explores the connections between people, places, and objects. Through her practice, she challenges conventional ways of ‘being’ and seeks alternatives for how we engage with the world. Her outcomes are project-dependent and often involve collaboration across different disciplines and specialisms and have included an artist residency and programme at Erddig National Trust, public events for Studio Response at Bartonsham Meadows and ‘Colours of…’ – an ongoing, pop-up nail bar offering colours drawn from specific locations. Jenny lives in the Forest of Dean and is programmes producer at Wyldwood Arts.

taught for many years around the North West before returning to her Herefordshire roots. She has co-ordinated ACE funded touring exhibitions including ‘The Mares Tale’ and most recently ‘Mappa Marches’, which responded to the borderlands landscape, somewhere that she continues to explore and find inspiration. She has exhibited at The Rodd and most recently in the group show ‘In search of the perfect Hill’ at The Art Shop and Chapel, Abergavenny. She runs workshops in printmaking and drawing.

About Sarah Price Hiking:
is passionate about connecting people with the landscapes of the England–Wales border. For her, walking is more than a physical activity — it can be a healing and transformative experience.

A qualified Walk Leader, fully insured, and certified in Outdoor and Mental Health First Aid, she ensures every walk is safe, welcoming and enjoyable. Sarah leads routes through valleys, woodlands, moorland and hills, from gentle, accessible paths to more challenging terrain.

Drawing on the area’s rich history and natural beauty, she invites both experienced hikers and first-time walkers to explore and connect with the outdoors together.
