Make Your Own Herbal Mocktails
About this Event
Meeting at the Tacony Community Garden at the corner of Longshore Ave & Keystone St.
Oxymels, shrubs, and switchels may sound like they belong in a Harry Potter potion book–but you don’t need to be a wizard to make these delicious, herbal elixirs at home.
Sweet, tangy, and refreshingly fizzy, the star of these sipping beverages are herb-infused vinegars. Combined with herbal simple syrup and seltzer, they make for the perfect summer thirst-quencher or an immune-boosting tonic for cooler months and are versatile enough to shine as mocktails, cocktails, or simply a creative, nourishing way to hydrate.
In this hands-on workshop taught by Herbalist Lynn Roberts, you’ll learn how to make herb-infused vinegars and simple syrups and blend complementary plant flavor profiles, sample a variety of herbal mocktails, take home recipes, and gain the confidence to keep experimenting in your own kitchen. Beverages are naturally gluten-free, and can be made vegan and/or sugar-free.
About the Instructor: Lynn Roberts is a Clinical Herbalist, Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Nutritionist, founder of Acuity Wellness, and Coordinator of the Montgomery County chapter of Herbalists Without Borders. A dedicated educator and grower, she stewards the herb beds at the PHS Community Farm at Norristown Farm Park and teaches home herbalism workshops both there and throughout the surrounding region.
