Basket Weaving

In this introductory basketry workshop, you will learn the basics of twining with reed. Students will learn one way to start a base, build up walls, and will leave the workshop with a finished small basket!

Please note: Masking is now encouraged, but optional in the studio space. Individuals who feel uncomfortable using the space with others unmasked, whether for health or any other reason, are welcome to request mask wearing while they are using the studio space.

About the instructor:

Olivia Caro is print and textile artist with a day job at Free Library of Philadelphia. They have assisted with and taught workshops at the Soapbox, Penland School of Crafts, Atlanta Printmakers Studio, the Dallas GA Public Library, and Grinnell College. Olivia enjoys weaving baskets in bodies of water, reading queer horror novels, and quilting with their cat Bucatini.
