MAKE: Wet Cane Dove Luminary

Step into a creative, hands‑on experience with MAKE: Wet Cane Dove Luminary, a two‑day workshop designed to guide you from raw materials to a beautifully finished luminary you’ll be proud to take home. Your ticket includes both class sessions, where Kris and our wonderful instructor will lead you through each step in a warm, supportive environment.

Whether you’re brand‑new to wet cane or simply eager to explore a new craft, this workshop offers the perfect blend of learning, creativity, and community.

Across two immersive afternoons, you’ll receive guided instruction in:

• Wet cane preparation and shaping
• Papering techniques for structure and design
• Full luminary assembly, resulting in one complete Dove Luminary

Every participant finishes the workshop with a completed piece — no prior experience required.

One of the most rewarding parts of this class is the shared atmosphere. You’ll be crafting alongside a group of like‑minded makers who are here for the same reason: to learn, create, and enjoy the process. It’s also a fantastic activity for pairs — bring a friend and make it a memorable creative outing.

Instructor:

Kris Geringer has been creating luminaries for over 20 years. She is currently the lead luminary instructor for the Porcession of the Species Community Art Studio. She co-produces the annual Luminary Procession during Spring Arts Walk. Kris enjoys collaborative art and sharing her knowledge with others.
