About this Event
Representing departed souls, skulls made from sugar are placed on loved ones' graves during the Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) holiday. Now you can make your own sugar skull from a slightly more durable material — wool. During this fun craft activity, you’ll learn the basics of needle felting, which is an easy method for sculpting wool, while creating an adorable ornament that’s perfect for October. All supplies and instructions are provided for $25/person. Since needles are sharp, ages 12 and up are welcome to join this activity.
And stick around for our all day, fall fest . From 10 AM - 5 PM, we’ll have:
- Over a dozen bonus crafters
- Free tastings of regional beer and wine
- DYI earrings, body scrub, and letterpress cards
- Apple Maple Magic, a special drink from our co-host Little Green Hive Coffee & Tea
- Our annual Sexy Overalls Contest
- Pepperoni rolls, apple stack cake, and other Appalachian eats
- “Hellbilly” tunes spun by D’J Possum Bottom
