About this Event
Maine Township's 43rd annual Agency Day will feature a workshop entitled People-First Leadership presented by Dr. Rick Daniels. This event provides a great opportunity for local organizations to network and exchange information about services in the Maine Township community and is open to employees from social service agencies, non-profits, schools, churches, hospitals, and units of government. Registration deadline is April 22.

Workshop Details
In today’s evolving landscape, how we lead people matters more than ever. People-First Leadership is a groundbreaking learning and development seminar that invites leaders to recognize shared humanity as the foundation for valuing diverse identities, a shift that strengthens organizations and teams. Attendees will explore seven essential practices that help to create the conditions where people feel empowered to contribute fully to their organizations, companies, and communities.
Speaker Biography
Dr. Rick Daniels is the Director of Institutional Equity and Inclusion at Oakton College, where he champions equity-minded leadership and inclusive organizational practices. A seasoned educator and consultant, he has worked with institutions like the Mayo Clinic and Hospitals Corporation of America. He holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Northern Illinois University, with additional studies in Oxford, Ghana, and Peru. Author of Tap Dancing without Shoes and host of the Critical Conversations podcast, Dr. Daniels is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., husband, and father who lives by the mantra, “Today is a new day and another opportunity.”
Agency Presentations
To help increase awareness of local community resources, the first 15 agencies to respond will have 2-3 minutes each to share their mission and services with those in attendance during the morning program. Everyone is encouraged to bring brochures, flyers, and business cards to display on our information tables and to use for networking purposes.
Cost
$35/person - includes 1.5 CE clock hours for social workers, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and nurses. A nominal fee will be added to all orders placed with a credit card.
