Main Street Cemetery Preservation Project Kickoff
This will be the official kickoff of our community cemetery restoration project.
We are now seeking volunteers for stone cleaning teams. Anyone volunteering for stone cleaning must be willing to be trained and work with a partner using proper preservation methods.
Stone Cleaning Volunteers Needed
We are currently looking for 16 volunteers total — 8 teams of 2.
These teams will be responsible for helping clean gravestones throughout the duration of the project. This will not be a one-day volunteer opportunity. There will be multiple project dates over time until the work is complete, so we are looking for people who are willing to make a real commitment to the effort.
Please do not sign up for stone cleaning unless you are prepared to commit to the project.
Once trained, these volunteers will also help train future volunteers as the project continues.
Landscaping Volunteers Also Needed
We are also looking for volunteer landscapers to assist with cleanup and beautification work around the cemetery.
The more help we have, the more we can accomplish.
Looking Ahead
The next phase of the project will involve additional volunteer training and gravestone straightening. We will share more details on that phase as we get closer.
