Mahjong Guided Open Play - DGSRC Member Exclusive

This session is designed for players who’ve already taken a lesson and want more real-game experience in a supportive, low-pressure environment. You’ll mostly play independently and Lisa Hinsberger of Mahjong Social Co will be there throughout the event to help and assist with strategy, game flow, rules, etc.

We will have raffles and fun prizes, including Mahjong tiles, tile bags, and other fun goodies! Join us!

What can I expect?

Already learned the basics but need a refresh? We got you, this is exactly where you jump back in! Guided Open Plays is where we get right into practicing playing because it's all about building confidence at the table! These events are all about enjoying the social side of Mahjong, which is the best part anyway! Feel free to bring you own snacks and drinks!

What is Mahjong Social Co?

Mahjong Social Co is Mahjong focused community that is based in Western suburbs of Chicago and is led by owner and instructor Lisa Hinsberger. Mahjong Social Co is offering thoughtfully curated beginner and intermediate lessons, private group experiences, social play events, and guided open play sessions. More than just teaching the game, Mahjong Social Co is centered around building connection, fostering community, and spreading the love of Mahjong in a way that feels welcoming, modern, and fun. Each event is designed to bring people together, whether they’re learning for the first time or refining their strategy. The focus is to create a space where laughter, confidence, and camaraderie naturally grow around the table.

Nothing, everything will be provided

What if I am signed up but can no longer attend?

If you’re unable to attend, please let us know in advance, as tables require four players. The tickets are not refundable but you can sell and transfer it to someone you know
