FILM DESCRIPTION:
“Temperance” tells the story of a whittling artist, unsatisfied with her wooden birds. However, lurking within her, her soul has other plans.
This film explores the importance of interconnection and balance in art making. Temperance was born from honest conversations about burnout, our own dreams, and how embracing our multi-faceted selves is the key to success.
YASMINE’S BIO:
Hey, I’m Yasmine Karaman – a Toronto-based artist who works primarily with VFX, 3D animation, and sculpture. I am interested in integrating science fiction, surrealism, posthumanism, and horror themes into vibrantly coloured works. I obtained a BFA (Hons.) in Experimental Animation from OCAD University in 2024, and I’m pursuing immersive media as a way to materialize my imagination.
CHARLOTTE’S BIO:
I’m Charlotte Rose! I am an artist based in Montreal, now living in Toronto. My passion is fuelled by the need to question, understand and represent the human experience. As a mixed-media stop motion artist, I like to use materials to push the boundaries of my creativity.
TAIS Artist in Residence Kevin Eskew will also be presenting their talk in the same evening!
