⚠️ Event update ⚠️
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Dr. Richard Flores is unable to join us on this date. We look forward to welcoming him at a future program and will share new details as soon as they are confirmed.
We're pleased to share that borderlands historian Dr. Raúl Ramos will join us instead to present “Impossible Identities: Mexican Americans After the Alamo.”
Nearly two centuries after the Battle of the Alamo, Dr. Ramos will examine how national and regional identities were constructed through historical narratives and how those narratives continue to shape how Mexican Americans see themselves and are seen by others. His work invites us to look more closely at the stories we’ve inherited and to consider how history influences our present in ways both visible and subtle. This program is presented by MACRI and the San Antonio Public Library Latino Collection and Resource Center.

Saturday, March 7, 2026 | 2 PM - 3:30 PM
Bazan Library | 2200 W Commerce Street, San Antonio, TX 78207
