Learn the art of macramé in this beginner friendly fiber arts class with Connecticut artist Melida Alford. Participants will explore the basics of knotting techniques while creating their own unique macramé wall hanging to take home. With guidance from the instructor, students will learn foundational knots, design tips, and finishing techniques in a relaxed and welcoming environment. No prior experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided.

Melida McKenzie is a Connecticut-based artist who has been creating knotted fiber works for many years. Her practice explores texture, form, and the meditative process of handcrafting. Passionate about sharing the accessibility and creativity of macramé, Melida enjoys helping beginners discover the joy of working with fiber and creating something beautiful by hand.
