About this Event
Macramé is the art of knotting string or cord in patterns to make decorative and practical items.
Overview of Course
Create a decorative macrame wall hanger with letter or shape detail. Macrame is the art of knotting cord in patterns to create practical and decorative items.
You can choose between the words, LOVE or HOME or a heart shape. There will be a choice of two colours for the details.
What will I learn?
During this course you will learn how to attach the cord to a dowel with a Lark’s Head knot and to knot the pattern using two colours with a double half-hitch knot.
Who is the course for?
Experience of macrame is not totally necessary however if you have had an experience this will benefit you for the double half hitch knot. You will be taught the basics and can design your own letters/shapes if you are feeling creative.
The course is aimed for anyone who wishes to learn the art form of pixel art in macrame, a good introduction for other projects.
Will I have to provide anything?
All macrame cord and the wooden dowel will be provided in the course price. Please bring a comb or pet brush for brushing out the fringe, and a pair of fabric/large scissors for trimming the cord.
Am I ready to start?
If you would like to learn a new craft or style of macrame, or would like to expand your macrame skills, then this course is for you.
