Mackinders-Tereki Valley Trek

Join us as we embark on an exhilarating journey through the Narumoro Route to Mackinder's Camp in Mount Kenya with WILD PRO ADVENTURES. Starting from Narumoro Gate the adventure unfolds with a scenic drive to the MET Station the trailhead. Trekking through diverse landscapes from montane forests to open moorlands hikers are treated to breathtaking vistas of the Mt. Kenya Massif. Experienced guides enrich the experience with insights into the region's ecology and culture. At Mackinder's Camp nestled amidst towering peaks travelers find respite and warmth before retracing their steps back to the MET Station.

Below is a brief description of the trail...

We depart from Nairobi at 4.00am and drive to Naromoru Park Gate (2600m) for registration and drive to Met Station where our hike will start at 3000m. After stretching we head uphill on the track past the radio must. The trek runs into a path and after another 30 minutes we will reach the end of the forest belt and enter the moorland. This is the vertical bog conditions ranging from damp to glutinous depending on when it last rained. We continue through the moorlands until the trek improves and we reach a fork overlooking Teleki Valley to reach McKinders Camp (4300m). We enjoy the view here if the weather allows then later head down to the starting point where we board our vehicle back to Nairobi.

Kindly note that we shall be gaining a lot of altitude therefore come mentally and physically prepared for this hike.

4.00am Depart Nairobi for Naromoru expected to arrive and to start the hike at 9.00am

12.30pm Enjoy your packed lunch or snacks at the peak as you view the scenic surroundings

6.00 pm Leave Naromoru for Nairobi expecting to arrive at 10.00pm

What to wear and items to carry;

Comfortable running shoes or Waterproof hiking boot preferred

Hiking/gym pants (avoid jeans)

Polyester T-shirt (like the football jerseys) carry an extra one to change after the hike

Head Torch

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel more than 48 hours before your scheduled trip departure 50% of the fee will be charged.

If you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled trip departure no refund fees will be provided.

No shows are responsible for 100% of trip fees.
