Embark on a captivating journey with Team Hikemaniak as we explore the picturesque trail in Sagana. Our adventure begins at Blue Hill Hotel, where we cross the Sagana River via a suspension bridge, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.As we traverse the trail, each step unveils breathtaking views of Kilimambogo, the Aberdares, and the Mwea plains. Strategic viewpoints offer a mesmerizing perspective of the river's journey to the Indian Ocean. Descending into Kimabicho forest service station, we pause to appreciate the scenic Sagana Canyon, a marvel of Mother Nature.
Exiting the forest onto a dusty village road, we follow the century-old railway line, leading us to the awe-inspiring Sagana Canyon. Continuing along the railway line, a footpath guides us to the river-line and Jangwani camp, where a stunning waterfall awaits. If fortunate, a sunset crowns our full-day hike, making it an exceptional reward.
Covering approximately 16km in 5-6 hours, this magical trail promises an immersive experience with nature. Team Hikemaniak eagerly looks forward to walking this enchanting path with you. See you there!

Trip Itinerary
Time Activity
6.00am Depart Nairobi for Kiambicho Forest expected to arrive at Blue Hill Hotel to start the hike at 8.30am
12.30pm Enjoy your packed snacks at the peak as you view the scenic surroundings
4.30 pm Leave Sagana for Nairobi expecting to arrive at 7.30pm.
What to wear and items to carry;
Wear comfortable running shoes or Water proof hiking boot preferred
Wear hiking/gym pants (avoid jeans)
Polyester T-shirt
Carry an extra one to change of clothes for after the hike to keep warm and for the next for the campers
Sunglasses
Hat/cap
Camera
Binoculars
Drinking water (3litres)
Sunscreen (Arimis oK) and Insect repellent
SnackS or picnic Lunch
Energy Bars
Poncho or a light Rain Jacket
Avoid unnecessary Items

Cancellation Policy
If you cancel more than 48hours before your scheduled trip departure, a 50% of the fee will be charged.
If you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled trip departure, no refund fees will be provided.
No shows are responsible for 100% of trip fees.
