Lyndhurst, known as the capital of the New Forest, is a village in the heart of the New Forest offers wonderful days out wandering the long high street for some shopping, exploring and relaxing in the nearby open forest and enjoying delicious food and drink in local pubs and cafes.
Christchurch has a thriving High Street leading into the pedestrianised Saxon Square - filled with a mix of national brand shops and small, independent retailers. With four miles of beautiful coastline, including sweeping views over to the Isle of Wight, and six safe sandy beaches, each with their own character and facilities and two delightful rivers to walk along, two historic Quays to discover and two Castles to explore - it's twice the fun in Christchurch!
The New Forest became a national park in 2005 and was once a royal hunting ground for William the Conqueror.
Step back in time and discover the charm and natural beauty of this unique destination. It covers an area of 566 square kilometres and is made up of vast tracts of unspoilt woodland, heathland and river valleys. Today deer, ponies and cattle continue to roam free in its ancient heaths and woodland.
