LWVGA Inaugural Georgia Civic Legacy Dinner
About this Event
On Saturday, December 12, 2026, the League of Women Voters of Georgia will gather at American Legion Post 294 in Powder Springs for our first Georgia Civic Legacy Dinner, an evening celebrating the long story of how Georgians built and held onto the right to govern themselves.
This is the first event of its kind the League has held in Georgia in more than a decade, and it belongs to all of us. Members, friends, and neighbors from every corner of the state, from Dahlonega to Savannah and every town in between, will come together at one table to honor our shared civic legacy and the people who keep self-government strong.
What to expect
- A warm welcome and time to connect with fellow Georgians who care about this work
- A full-course dinner with dessert
- A keynote from acclaimed author and historian Michael Thurmond, a 2025 Georgia Author of the Year finalist for James Oglethorpe, Father of Georgia, who will walk us through the Georgia story of self-government
- An evening of reflection, gratitude, and celebration for the civic work happening in communities across the state
This is a nonpartisan celebration, open to everyone. Your ticket supports the nonpartisan work of the League of Women Voters of Georgia, helping Georgians register, understand what is on their ballot, and make their voices heard.
