Lux Lives is a celebration of the life of Lux Interior who passed way 17 years ago this February. Kogar the Swinging Ape started Lux Lives East Coast 13 years ago with an event in Somerville Massachusetts. Lux Lives has become an annual event (provided there isn’t a pandemic) where fans can get together, see bands, listen to music and celebrate everything CRAMPS!
All of our shows benefit Best Friends Animal Society. Since the first event, Lux Lives EC has raised over 40,000 dollars for Best Friends in Lux Interior’s name. Musicians, artists, DJ’s and other assorted Goo Goo Mucks donate their time and energy to celebrate the legacy of the band we all love!
Like every Lux Lives event there will be Lux Lives items for sale and all proceeds will go to Best Friends. Watch this space for exciting updates as we get closer to the show!

THE EVIL STREAKS : If you dipped, The Cramps, into a pot of The Sonics and added a pinch of sweetness of the Go-Gos, you'd get The Evil Streaks. Myra (Ghouls Night Out and Gein and the Graverobbers) pulls double duty: playing her Fender Cyclone drenched with reverb and heading up vocals. All this is backed up by some very important faces in the Necro-Tone family. John Kozik (The Crimson Ghosts, Demon Seeds, Kilslug) plays a mean fuzz guitar. The Rev (Mongrel and Gein and the Graverobbers, The Negans and more!) adds some flair and power to the bass. And then we have the skilled and very energetic Chuck Ferreira (Greg Hawkes, The ShangHi Los, Eddie Japan) on drums and Paul Simisky on Farfisa organ!
The Evil Streaks combine the trashy garage sound of the ‘60s with the dark punkabilly sound of the Cramps. These characters, dressed only in black and white, unleash a unique brand of creepy-yet-rockin’ sound that is sure to leave you begging for more. When they hit the stage, these dark characters never fail to get their audiences going with their rockin’ riffs and sing along hooks.
GOSSIP COLLAR is a dark post- punk death rock band from Boston. They started playing together in 2023. They are often compared to Skeletal Family and Paralis Permanente. GOSSIP COLLAR released a self-titled EP in 2023. In 2024 they release a full length LP titled “Spinning Silk for Parasites” on Bat Cave Productions (Poland) and No Norms Records (USA). Their live shows are meant to evoke a trance-like state complete with a laser light show, pounding drums, heavy flange, delay, and echoes. They have shared the stage with many great bands including Fotocrime, Davila 666, March Violets, Haunt Me, Pink Turns Blue, and House of Harm. They have developed a following in Boston and play regularly in clubs, basements, and other dark places.
Cryin Caleb, dubbed the “Blues-Punk Prophet of Doom”, is a singing, songwriting, guitar-playing one-man band from Maine. Playing his own style of roots rock 'n' roll/country/twang/punk, his influences creep out from the shadows stretched over several decades of underground song, from Hank Williams to Bo Diddley, Sinéad O’Connor to The Gun Club, Jimmie Rodgers to The Cramps, Dead Moon to Leadbelly. With equal parts cynicism and pathos, his melodic, rousing songs are almost always laced with desperation, dealing with existential dread, lonesomeness, regret, alienation, love, and armageddon. That all being said, he’s still a lot of fun!
Kogar the Swinging Ape is a collector, disc jockey, compiler, blogger, sometime musician and full time Cramps fiend. He has DJ’d live in Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Tokyo and beyond. He is the compiler of Lux and Ivy’s Favorites, a series of compilations featuring songs Lux and Ivy mentioned over the years in various interviews. Along with his wife, he runs the charitable organization Lux Lives East Coast that holds yearly events to celebrate the life of Lux Interior and have raised over 40,000 dollars for Best Friends Animal Society in Lux’s name. He currently hosts Kogar’s Jungle Juice, a show that specializes in music from the 50’s and 60’s for Boss Radio 66.
