Lunchtime Talks at Kendal Museum: Our River Kent

Join us for a special talk exploring the local community’s relationship with the river, inspired by our current exhibition. Drawing on highlights from our collections, the talk brings together voices, stories and perspectives that reveal how the river has shaped local life, environment and identity.

The event features contributions from the Clean River Kent Campaign, Natural Kendal, Kendal Oral History Group, local artist Sue Madden, photographer Nicola Fearnley, and fisherman Kieron Banks, alongside others involved in the exhibition.

Together, these contributors offer insight into the river’s past, present and future — from environmental action and lived experience to creative responses and personal memories.

Advance booking is advised. Walk-in tickets will be available on the day on a first-come, first-served basis; however, admission cannot be guaranteed.
