About this Event
This may be one of the most important topics you never studied in school. Dr. Shoptaugh will share how learning about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) —and understanding how childhood adversity impacts the developing nervous system—completely transformed the way she approached medicine. Participants will gain insight into how ACEs-informed care can strengthen patient relationships, improve communication, and support better long-term health outcomes. You won’t want to miss this inspiring and practical session. PLUS enjoy a free lunch and networking with your colleagues!
Speaker Bio: A graduate of Arizona State University and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Dr. Shoptaugh completed her residency in Pediatrics at Phoenix Children's. She founded All About Kids Pediatrics in 1998 and practiced there until joining Phoenix Children's in 2020. She currently serves as the Medical Director of the Center of Resiliency and Wellbeing (CRW), a program she co-founded in 2019.
