Lunch & Learn: The Hidden Crossroads—OCD, Anxiety, Autism & Psychosis
Join us for a clinical Lunch & Learn exploring where neurodevelopmental and psychiatric conditions intersect. We'll examine the diagnostic overlap between OCD, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorder, social communication differences, and early psychosis—and discuss how recognizing these intersections can lead to earlier identification, more accurate diagnoses, and better treatment outcomes.
This educational presentation features Dr. Eric Wexler, Medical Director and Co-Founder of Pand Health, whose clinical work focuses on the assessment and treatment of adolescents and young adults with complex neuropsychiatric presentations. Through a neuroscience-informed approach, Dr. Wexler has worked extensively with individuals whose symptoms extend beyond traditional diagnostic categories, helping families and providers identify the underlying neurological and psychiatric factors that influence functioning, behavior, and recovery.
Presented in collaboration with Dr. Tarik Hadzic and the clinical leadership at Newport Academy, this discussion will explore current clinical perspectives on differential diagnosis, early identification, and multidisciplinary treatment planning for youth and young adults experiencing complex mental health conditions.
Participants will gain insight into:
- The clinical overlap between OCD, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, and early psychosis
- Key considerations for differential diagnosis and diagnostic clarification
- Early indicators that may warrant specialized assessment or referral
- Neuroscience-informed approaches to evaluation and treatment planning
- Strategies for interdisciplinary collaboration to improve continuity of care and patient outcomes
This presentation is designed for psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, pediatricians, primary care providers, school mental health professionals, case managers, and community behavioral health partners seeking to strengthen their understanding of complex neuropsychiatric disorders and evidence-informed referral pathways.
Lunch will be provided, followed by an opportunity for discussion and networking with fellow behavioral health professionals.
