About the Event:

Join Tim Turner (Cherokee Nation), Associate Director of Indigenous Education, as he takes a fascinating look at Indigenous leaders from the 1600s to the present day. This program will explore well-known figures from history including Ousamequin (Massasoit), Tisquantum (Squanto), and Metacomet (King Philip), as well as the current Chairman and Chairwoman of the Herring Pond (Plymouth), Mashpee, and Aquinnah (Martha’s Vineyard) Tribes. Program participants will gain an understanding of each leader’s contributions to the region and to their communities.

Speaker Bio:

In 2017, Tim was the Plimoth Patuxet Hornblower Award recipient for his dedication to the Museum and commitment to teaching Indigenous history and culture.
