The Lunatic Series! THE CONCEPT:
The series is based around the full moon for maximum light and lunatic levels! Participants register through Webscorer and can either run or ride. This is a self-timed race using QR codes through Webscorer. Maps will be given and QR codes placed at obvious locations or points of interest around the park or venue. Participants get to strategize their race route to get to point A to B to C as quick as they can. Participants can do the route anytime between Tuesday morning and Sunday evening so if you do not have a light or cannot make the in person gather, you can still be a lunatic! Do it alone, or with friends, go fast or make your route fun, it’s your adventure! This is a great way to get to know a trail system in our region or spice up your usual riding spot by riding at night!
HOW IT WORKS:
Each partnering organization uses the Webscorer timing app to print QR codes that they strategically place around their park/venue (5-10) and the participants scan them to time themselves. There is a start and finish QR code and various points in between. There is a short course (3-7 miles) and a long course (7-13+ miles). The distance will depend on how participants design their route but we will give each distance a suggested route map. The suggested route will of course take longer than if they know all the trails well. People can pre ride the course, they just have to scan the QR codes to start and finish their time.
Participants can do just one standalone event or multiple events in the series. For those who want to be entered into the Lunatic Series for some overall prizes and swag, there will be a Bikereg page participants will sign up for (Stay Tuned). That is how we will be able to tally up the total times from all the different events. Organizations will send their Webscorer results when their event is over, and we will tally up all the total cumulative times for an overall Lunatic winner. The persons with the fastest time will be the winners!
GATHERING:
For the Falling Creek event we will meet at Beale’s Brewery around 7:30pm Friday for food & drinks.
REGISTRATION:
Registration will open in June! You must sign up for each individual race through Webscorer through each organization participating. To Be entered for the overall series you must additionally register through Bikereg.
