About this Event
Lughnasadh: A Celebration of First Harvest, Sacred Waters & Community
At the height of summer, when the sun hangs golden in the sky and the gardens overflow with abundance, we gather to honor Lughnasadh—the ancient Celtic festival of the first harvest.
This is a time to celebrate what has ripened.
To honor the seeds we have tended, the fruits now forming, and the nourishment rising from the Earth. It is a threshold in the turning of the year—a moment to recognize abundance while remembering the devotion, resilience, and community that carry us from seed to harvest.
Join us at Earthstar Farm for a magical day woven through story, myth, herbal wisdom, sacred pilgrimage, journeying, food, music, and community.
Led by Amanda Rose, we will enter the spirit of Lughnasadh through story and myth, exploring the traditions, ancient wisdom, and meaning that have long accompanied this season of ripening and first harvest among the Celtic peoples.
Guided by Naomi Amaya Love, we will enter the garden and learn to ethically harvest our herbal allies, cultivating a deeper relationship with the plants and the living land around us.
From the garden, we will make a pilgrimage to the sacred well at The StarHouse.
In the spirit of the Chalice Well of Avalon, we will dress the waters in honor of the season and the ancient relationship between land, water, prayer, and community.
Naomi will then lead us on a shamanic journey, inviting us to listen beyond the ordinary and receive the medicine and messages this threshold of the year holds for us.
Returning to the abundance of the garden, Madeline Hoffman will lead us in creating delicious summer treats with freshly harvested fruits, vegetables, and medicinal herbs—a celebration of the sweetness, color, and generosity of the season.
We will close our gathering around a shared community potluck, with each person bringing a dish to offer to the table. Together, we will feast in the garden, surrounded by beautiful music, summer sunshine, and the simple magic of gathering in community.
Lughnasadh reminds us that no harvest is created alone.
The seed needs the soil.
The grain needs the sun.
The garden needs the rain.
And we need one another.
Come celebrate the first harvest with us. Come honor what is ripening within you and around you. Come place your hands upon the Earth, make offerings at the sacred waters, share food from the garden, and remember the resilience that grows when we gather together.
May we meet at the threshold of harvest with gratitude for all that has carried us here—and with open hearts for all that is still becoming.
