What:
An opportunity to share your perspectives on how community values get translated into visual design in the Lower Albina neighborhood. How will cultural life and Afrofuturism be integrated into the public space - the aesthetics of the buildings, open spaces, streets, and gathering spaces? How do we design colors, patterns, motifs, architectural elements and reference points into our new district?

What to expect:
Meet the local design team that is stewarding the vision for the residential heart of lower Albina: Chandra Robinson (Chromatografica) Cleo Davis and Robert Clarke (Black Aesthetic Studio), PLACE, and Agency.
Share your feedback on the visual, architectural, and design elements that make a district comfortable and feel like home.
What happens next?
This conversation closes out the , a collaborative effort involving Albina Vision Trust and the City of Portland.
The feedback from this event will inform district design guideline recommendations for the area’s Development Framework Plan to help ensure that the redevelopment of Lower Albina reflects the vision and values of past and future residents. Albina Vision Trust’s masterplan for the Portland Public Schools headquarters site, launching Fall 2026, will also build on this feedback.
