Cycle 3 – Family Matters
Lowell Stories: Storytelling Workshops & Mini Story Slam
Stories about family, connection, and the people who shape our lives take center stage in the third cycle of the Lowell Stories Community Storytelling Series.
Participants will take part in two storytelling workshops where they will develop a true personal story, followed by a Mini Story Slam where those stories can be shared with an audience. The Mini Story Slam is also open to community members who simply want to listen and enjoy an evening of live storytelling.

Workshop 1 – July 29, 6:00 PM
Workshop 2 – August 5, 6:00 PM
Mini Story Slam – August 12, 6:30 PM
All events take place at lala books, downtown Lowell
No storytelling or performance experience required.

Storyteller Nicolette Nordin Heavey performs award-winning personal stories (MassMouth, The Moth) and conducts workshops. Her award-winning Stories in the Streets program brings storytelling into the community, wherever they may gather. Her workshops build confidence and give concrete tools for attendees to create their own personal stories.
