Baker Book House is excited to host Dr. Suzanne McDonald as she dicusses her new devotional, Love Bade Me Welcome, with Calvin University English professor Chad Engbers. The devotional explores the poetry of George Herbert and how to apply it to our daily lives. There will be time for Q&A at the end.
About the Book: Through his poetry, George Herbert has been drawing readers into a more honest faith and deeper love of the Triune God for hundreds of years. This new devotional by Dr. Suzanne McDonald contains guidance for interpreting the poems and connecting them to your life, along with Scripture and prayers accompanying each poen and promts to encourage personal reflection and prayer.
About the Author: Dr. Suzanne McDonald is the Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, MI. In this devotional, Suzanne brings her 17th-century expertise and decades of experiencing the formative power of Herbert's poetry in her own life, in the hope that journeying with Herbert will enable readers to grow in knowledge and love of God, and in their faith and discipleship.
