Mozart’s theatre of love – poised between irony, desire and illusion – unfolds through a selection of arias from Così fan tutte, performed by a cast of six singers. In contrast, the fiery passion of Bizet’s Carmen surges through the orchestral suite by Rodion Shchedrin, in which the orchestra gives voice to the opera’s most iconic themes.
