Bloomington is one of the richest communities for Abraham Lincoln-related sites — some of which look much as they did during his lifetime! Join Norris Porter, the Museum’s Assistant Executive Director and Director of Development, for a walking tour that will explore sites associated with Lincoln in downtown Bloomington on Saturday, August 29 at 1:30 p.m.
The tour will trace Lincoln’s footsteps through the heart of Bloomington; a city where he spent more time than anywhere else other than his home in Springfield, Illinois.
This leisurely walking tour blends history with local lore, highlighting the places where Lincoln spoke, worked, and left a lasting imprint. Along the way, stories from Bloomington’s past will bring Lincoln’s legacy to life, reminding visitors how deep Lincoln’s influence remains imbedded in the very streets we walk every day.
Tickets are $10 for the General Public, $8 for Museum Members, and $5 for Students.
Participation is limited to 30 people. Tickets will go on sale June 22, 2026, and be available for purchase online.
Please note that we will walk approximately 1.5 miles over a 90 minute period, standing and stopping between various sites.
The tour will begin at the Museum and end at the “Lost Speech” mural on Front Street. Participants should meet outside the Museum's main entrance on Washington Street approximately 15 minutes before tour time. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. We also encourage you to bring bottled water.
If you miss your chance to participate in this tour, you will have another opportunity on Saturday, September 12 at 1:30 p.m.
