$25/20Notable NZ guitarist Lockie Bennett brings his trio (and a top Sydney rhythm section) to Smith's for a single Canberra show, part of his 2026 farewell Australasian tour.
The band will be rounded out by a rhythm section comprising some of Sydney’s top musicians. The trio will present a selection of songs made popular by the likes of Charlie Parker, Bud Powell and Tadd Dameron.
Lockie Bennett is a jazz guitarist based in Wellington, New Zealand, who specialises in bop-oriented music. Lockie is also regarded as one of New Zealand’s most in-demand straight-ahead jazz guitarists. Since graduating from the New Zealand School of Music in 2020, Lockie has played regularly as both a leader and a side man with some of New Zealand’s highest-regarded jazz musicians.
This is the first and final opportunity to catch this trio before Lockie relocates to Europe in July.
