Explore nature — and community — at the beautiful San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary! Join us for a guided bird walk through one of Southern California's most beloved freshwater marshes, followed by a relaxed picnic together with Latino Outdoors.

Whether you've been birding for years or have never looked through a pair of binoculars, this walk is for you. The sanctuary is home to hundreds of bird species, and the marsh trails offer stunning views of herons, egrets, ducks, coots, and — if we're lucky — a few rare or migratory visitors. Our helpful guides at San Joaquin Marsh will help you spot, identify, and appreciate the incredible wildlife right in our backyard.

After the walk, we'll gather for a community picnic — a chance to share food, stories, and the joy of spending time outdoors together.

Latino Outdoors is dedicated to connecting Latino communities with public lands and outdoor spaces, and this event is a celebration of that mission right in the heart of Orange County.

¡Explora la naturaleza —y la comunidad— en el hermoso Santuario de Vida Silvestre de San Joaquín! Acompáñanos en un recorrido guiado de observación de aves por uno de los humedales de agua dulce más apreciados del sur de California, seguido de un picnic relajado junto a Latino Outdoors.

Ya sea que lleves años observando aves o que nunca hayas mirado a través de unos binoculares, este recorrido es para ti. El santuario alberga cientos de especies de aves, y los senderos del humedal ofrecen vistas espectaculares de garzas, garcetas, patos, fochas y —si tenemos suerte— algunos visitantes poco comunes o migratorios. Nuestros amables guías en el humedal de San Joaquín te ayudarán a localizar, identificar y apreciar la increíble vida silvestre que tenemos tan cerca de casa.

Después del recorrido, nos reuniremos para un picnic comunitario: una oportunidad para compartir comida, historias y la alegría de pasar tiempo al aire libre juntos.

Latino Outdoors se dedica a conectar a las comunidades latinas con tierras públicas y espacios al aire libre, y este evento es una celebración de esa misión en pleno corazón del condado de Orange.
