Curious about taking your yoga practice deeper? Are you wondering what it means to live a yogic life? This immersive workshop with Jessica Martini, B.A, CYT-500, will introduce you to these concepts through learning about the first two limbs of the yogic path: the Yamas and the Niyamas. Designed for both students and teachers, this in-depth session will teach you how to take your yoga practice off the mat and into your everyday life. For teachers, this workshop will help you to weave these themes into your classes to help take your students deeper into themselves.
Key topics will include:
- Learning the yogic philosophies around how we treat ourselves and others.
- Developing a greater ability to notice and observe thoughts as they arise.
- Understanding how the yoga practice on the mat (asana) is a metaphor for how we live off the mat.
This workshop will start with discussion and end with a beginner-friendly practice, so please come prepared to practice with a yoga mat.
Price: $75 / $65 for Ahimsa members or if registered by 1/4/26.
About our presenter:
Jessica Martini's classes are about compassionate challenge. She first met yoga 7 years ago for the physical benefits, but quickly realized the emotional and mental benefits she received from it as well. She realized that she could be both strong and kind, powerful and soft, full of effort and also ease. For Jessica, the true practice has always been taking what is learned on the mat, off the mat, into oneself, and out into the world.
Jessica, BA, CYT 500, has practiced yoga for 10 years and has taught over 2000 hours of classes. She has practiced a variety of yoga modalities, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Therapeutic, Kundalini, Yin, and Restorative yoga, making her a well-rounded, capable instructor. Her classes are purposeful, uplifting, and educational, with a strong focus on building stability in order to create mobility. She also loves sprinkling in little doses of humor from time to time, just to remind us to find balance in all things.
Outside of yoga, Jessica is a full-time real estate agent, wife, and mother of two fur babies, Baxter and Brin. In her free time she enjoys cycling and weight lifting, cooking, reading, and being outdoors on sunny days. She welcomes you to class.
