Join us for a special exhibition during Climate Week NYC 2026 showcasing the final projects from the Urban Environmental Health Lab (UEHL) Fellowship-an interdisciplinary program that brings together NYC-based artists, environmental justice leaders, and community members to explore the connections between climate, public health, and creative expression.

Developed through months of collaboration, learning, and fieldwork, these projects transform insights on urban soil, water, air, and community care into powerful installations, performances, films, and interactive experiences. Grounded in themes of reciprocity, collective care, and environmental awareness, the exhibition invites you to engage with work that makes the often-invisible impacts of climate and environmental injustice felt and seen.

Living Systems: Collective Power in Motion is a public exhibition and gathering showcasing final projects from the 2026 Urban Environmental Health Lab (UEHL) Fellowship. Through installations, performances, films, and interactive experiences, NYC-based artists, environmental justice leaders, youth, and community members explore how climate, public health, and collective care intersect—centering urgent concerns around urban air, water, soil, and neighborhood wellbeing.

The Urban Environmental Health Lab, a paid fellowship of the Human Impacts Institute (HII), brings together local artists, environmental justice leaders, and young people to develop creative, community-driven responses to environmental health challenges. HII advances climate justice through arts, culture, and public engagement, strengthening frontline leadership and collective action.
