Introducing Cecil “Mr Sippy” Abels, hailing from the North Mississippi hill country and rooted in the vibrant musical melting pot of Memphis, Mussel Shoals, and Jackson. Influenced by a mix of gospel, soul, country, R&B, and blues, akin to the upbringing of a certain boy from Tupelo, his musical journey took shape. Embracing the 70s' alternative music scene over mainstream pop, Cecil's early guitar skills blossomed into a diverse repertoire spanning his performances from high school to a 20+ year Navy career that led him to New England. As a natural entertainer, Mr Sippy infuses his shows with a rich blend of music and humor.While Mr Sippy shines as the charismatic front man of The New England Bluegrass Band, gracing esteemed stages like Winterhawk, Greyfox, Ossipee Valley Music Festival, and Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival, his talents have also reverberated across European World of Bluegrass Festivals in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and England. The band continues to captivate audiences in the region, boasting a notable alumnus with a Grammy Award in Chris Pandolfi, now a member of The Infamous Stringdusters.
