This month, we’re reading Caul Baby by Morgan Jerkins, a richly layered novel that blends history, family legacy, mysticism, and the realities of contemporary racial injustice. Centered on generations of Black women and the extraordinary inheritance they carry, Caul Baby weaves together themes of power, lineage, motherhood, survival, and ambition.
