If Your Heart Hurts, Rub a Little Dirt On It: MGM & the Beginning of Everything is an experimental audio documentary created by Rob Patrick.
Focusing on MGM of the 1930s, this listening experience combines voice acting and original music to present a narratively adventurous, mood-based structure. Genre-bending in its approach, Patrick's audio documentary uses archival research to present a euphonious and cake-rich exploration of stardom in the studio era.
This audio portrait was made possible by the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
There will be no visual accompaniments during the listening party. While the lights are low, we ask that you take in this auditory adventure with an uninterrupted ear.
MON 6/29 7PM
Tickets are now available online and at the box office beginning 30 minutes before showtime.
