Brian Haggerty, a retired estate planning lawyer, will discuss the basics of how assets transfer on the death of their owner. This will give you some insights for how to create an estate plan that will achieve your goals. There is no “one size fits all” estate plan, but we will go over the basics. Brian will discuss transfers by operation of law, transfers pursuant to contract, transfers pursuant to a will, and transfers managed under trust.
