Who Should Attend: Open to all health care professionals, including primary care providers, specialists, surgeons, residents, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

Samaritan Health Services is accredited by the Washington State Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Benign Hematology: What Tests to Order and How to Interpret the Results
Host: John M. Strother, MD

Info: Dr. Strother is a board-certified specialist in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine. He earned his medical degree from The Pennsylvania State University and completed both his residency and fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University.

He currently serves as the medical director for Samaritan Hematology & Oncology and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. Dr. Strother is known for delivering advanced, compassionate care and for his commitment to clinical excellence.

Info: Dr. Shalini Mehta specializes in Critical Care, Interventional Pulmonology, and Pulmonology. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan – Dearborn. She earned her medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine, followed by a residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Host: Chad Morse, MD

Info: Dr. Chad Morse specializes in Gastroenterology. He completed his undergraduate studies at Rice University and earned his medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Morse completed both his internship and residency at the University of Arizona, followed by a fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital. He is board-certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine.

Info: Dr. Davis is a board-certified specialist in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine. He went on to complete his residency at Rochester General Hospital and his fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Davis sees patients with all types of cancer and blood disorders, with a clinical interest in hematology. He is dedicated to providing expert, compassionate care to patients during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

Advances in Radiation Oncology
Host: Michael Carrasquilla, MD

Info: Dr. Carrasquilla is a board-certified radiation oncologist. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois Urbana and earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College of Rush University. He went on to complete his internship at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital and his residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

He treats a wide range of cancerous and benign conditions using advanced radiation therapy techniques, including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). Dr. Carrasquilla is committed to delivering high-quality, personalized care that supports both treatment outcomes and quality of life.

She went on to complete her residency at Mountain Area Health Education Center and her fellowship at Providence Alaska Medical Center.

Dr. Tucker is part of a multidisciplinary team that supports patients with serious illnesses. With a clinical focus in palliative care, she is dedicated to ensuring that each patient’s care aligns with their individual hopes and goals.
