Lions By Lanterns Night Trail. Join us for an unforgettable night trail experience at the Lion & Safari Park. Whether you’re a seasoned trail runner or a hiker wanting to soak up the moonlight, this exclusive event offers a rare chance to traverse 1,000 hectares of private wilderness after dark with some magnificent wildlife – not to mention over a hundred lanterns scattered along the way! With the crackle of a bonfire and the sound of the wild as your soundtrack, this is more than just a trail, it’s a true Wild African Experience. After your trek, join us for a cold craft beer around a warm bonfire. It’s the perfect way to kick off a wild weekend under the stars.
The Twist... CHRISTMAS IN JULY! Since we’re running on July 10th, we’re bringing a bit of “Winter Wonderland” to the bush! We invite all participants to embrace our optional Christmas in July dress-up theme. Whether it’s a Santa hat, tinsel wrapped around your hydration pack, or your most festive (and breathable) winter gear, let’s light up the night. There might just be some extra Christmas cheer waiting for the most creative outfits at the lucky draw!
Entry Includes: A finisher “medal” (branded glass) followed by a well-deserved complimentary post-trail Craft Beer (18+), fully stocked water points, exclusive access to well-marked trails, trail fees, game rangers on route, professional medical support, access to a boma-style pop-up with a full bar onsite, along with a bon fire or two, adding to a true Wild African Experience! Note: Whilst the routes are different to that of our daylight trails and largely on jeep track, head torches are mandatory for all runners.
Route: As there are no extreme climbs or immensely difficult terrain, Wild Africa Experiences have rated the route a 3/5 (5 being the most difficult). Note the routes may vary from our daylight trails at this venue. Walkers / hikers are more than welcome to join us on the 5km route.
