Musicality for lindy hop
Three week course with Bogi & Thom
We’d like to share some of what we have learned over the years about musicality in swing dance. Not just keeping to the beat, but taking your social dancing to the next level :)
What will we learn?
Three classes on different aspects of musicality. Things like:
- Structure of swing music, and how to use it as a dancer
- Doing musicality as a partnership
- New toys for hitting individual moments in the music
- Connecting with the emotional journey of a song
There will be some new moves and shapes along the way, but they won’t be the main focus. The main goal is to connect with your partner and the music in a deeper way. We want to help you all find more of the juice that makes lindy hop such a great social dance!
Is this for me? (“What level is it?”)
Because we won't be focusing so much on moves, dancers of many levels can join. We're confident that all dancers from intermediate to advanced, and beyond, will get something from the classes.
We assume you know the foundational shapes (swing-outs, tandem charleston, tuck-turns, texas tommy,...) — but they don't have to be perfect!
