A 3.5 hour intense but fun workshop, focusing on the fundamental techniques and styling of Lindy Hop steps, taking you from the very roots of Lindy to today’s perception of the dance.
Our Fundamentals workshops are suitable for those within their first year of learning Lindy Hop, those who have completed our beginner cycle(s) and also the more advanced dancer, wishing to return to consolidate and refine their basic lindy hop techniques.
Fundamentals I covers some of the key Lindy Hop moves in the 8 count triple step rhythm pattern.
Applicants for this workshop, will have already learnt Basic 8 Count, Swing Out, Lindy Turn, Texas Tommy, Pass By, Lunges and Turns etc.
By the end of Fundamentals I, you should leave the workshop with a clear understanding of the lead/follow social dancing techniques, body movement, style and to make you more confident on the social dance floor.
As per the last 20+ years of teaching this workshop, Joseph & Charlotte will be sharing the history and culture of the dance throughout the workshop.

Watford Junction – 7 minute walk from Beechen Grove
PARKING:
There is free parking at the Church. This often gets full. there is plenty of nearby parking in the Palace, Queen’s Kings and Citi Park car parks. All of which are a short walk away.
Harlem Nights social dance will follow the the workshops at 8pm. In between this time we will grab a bite to eat in the town centre before dancing the night away.
