First Bite is the exciting kickoff celebration for Lights On, Plates Full, bringing together Rhode Island’s culinary, nonprofit, business, and civic communities to launch a month of dining with purpose.

Held at Track 15 on October 1, First Bite introduces the seven participating restaurants and their seven youth-serving nonprofit partners. Guests will get the first look at the specially created Signature Lights On Plates, while chefs and nonprofit leaders share the stories and inspiration behind their collaborations.

Designed as both a celebration and a media moment, First Bite will welcome community leaders, elected officials, sponsors, supporters, and members of the press to shine a spotlight on the importance of afterschool programming in Rhode Island.

Most importantly, First Bite sets the stage for a month in which every meal can make a difference. It invites Rhode Islanders to dine, discover, and give back—supporting local restaurants while helping provide young people with access to enriching afterschool opportunities.
