LIFTING AS WE CLIMB: RICHMOND PARK WALKING TOUR
An Outside Classroom Utah Black History Learning Opportunity
Whether you have or have not yet seen the beautifully colorful mural of four of Salt Lake City’s influential and hard-working Black American women, you will be interested in this tour which shares behind-the-scenes information about the mural and the women depicted. This outside classroom takes the attendee on a short walk around the Mignon Barker Richmond Park and its surrounding Black American historic neighborhood to learn about these remarkable women and their continuing impact upon Utah and its residents.
Attendees are welcome to bring a folding/camp chair for sitting and any standing/mobility aids needed.
Tour Duration: 2 hours
Attendee Ability Level: Attendee must be able to walk from their parked car / public transportation to the meeting spot in the Mignon Barker Richmond Park and stand for a total of two (2) hours.
