Bristol band Lifter will be playing their new Things Happen Here Records album ‘Clasping Hands With The Moribund’ live at CLASH – two sets, 4pm and 8pm, free entry.
If you love the laid back, hypnotic indie/folk of the likes of Fleet Foxes, Smog or Bonnie Prince Billy you will love this band.
The album is the second release on Things Happen Here Records and it will be available to buy locally for the very first time at the launch on beautiful pink vinyl.
Previously self released by the band as a CD and digital release, ‘Clasping Hands…’ marks an introduction to the various styles the band have strived to incorporate into their sound over the eight singles they released prior to recording the album.
On ‘Clasping Hands…’ the band take musical cues from a diverse range of sources including slowcore, folk, country and indie rock. A handful of influences on the albums intricate and pastoral sound would include The American Analogue Set, Nick Drake, XTC, Guided By Voices and Bill Callahan.
The original CD release of the album received great reviews and resulted in festival appearances, UK dates and a European tour. When we heard the album we immediately offered to release it for a new audience to discover on vinyl-it’s fantastic!

CLASH is in Unit 1 The Cider Press Centre, Dartington (in the second car park)
Parking is free from 6pm with 2 hours free parking available prior to 6. Parking is available in the Cider Press and the public car park across the road.
