### Life of Frontier Living
Presented by the River Valley Longhunters, featured demonstrators from Walker Farm Pioneer Days
Step back in time and experience the sights, sounds, and smells of frontier camp life in the 1750s. Members of the River Valley Longhunters, who bring 18th-century history to life each year at Walker Farm Pioneer Days, will guide participants through the skills, tools, and traditions of early frontier living.
Through hands-on learning and immersive demonstrations, participants will:
* Learn about the different types of frontier shelters and how they were constructed
* Discover what a woodsman carried and why each item was essential
* Explore period-appropriate clothing and the practical purpose behind each piece
* Practice traditional fire-building techniques using historical tools and methods
* Learn how round balls were cast for muskets
* Study the steps involved in loading and firing an 18th-century musket
* Examine the tools and equipment used to clean and maintain a musket
This program offers an engaging look at frontier survival skills, technology, and daily life, giving families the opportunity to learn directly from experienced historical interpreters and reenactors.

All participants must attend with a chaperone.
Participants will meet at the Historic Cabin at Audubon Acres after Checking in at the Visitor Center
