Life Explorers Speaker Series: Powerful Pollinators

Pollinators are critical for food productio, with some research saying a pollinator can be thanked for one of every three bites of food we eat. Therefore, creating a Florida-Friendly and environmentally conscious landscapes must focus on bringing in pollinators. Can your yard have it all? Fruit bearing specimen, native plants and an abundance of pollinators?

We believe so, which is why Froot Farms has incorporated an apiary on their land, allowing them to increase pollination for fruit bearing plants, create numerous environmental benefits on their property and diversify revenue streams.

Andrew is a serial-entrepreneur, farmer and edible plant installer in Central Florida. He began his agricultural journey growing his family's palm tree business, Birkett's Tree Farm, with his uncle Greg, before the pair started Froot Farms-an edible plant nursery and food forest installation firm that also has a composting facility and small apiary. Andrew and Greg have continued growing the team for both businesses on the family's 115-acre farm in Christmas, FL.
