About this Event
This full-day workshop introduces the basics of working in pen and ink. It is for anyone who wants to try drawing ink, and is suitable for complete beginners to drawing, or those with more experience who might want to try ink. This workshop focuses on drawing with ink and the tools we use, looking at techniques and mark making we can use with this versatile medium.
What to Expect
Morning: In the morning we will focus on dip pens and reed pens, getting a feel for the mark-making behaviour of these tools by drawing from different pose lengths.
Afternoon: The afternoon will look at using ink and wash, drawing with brushes as well as other tools to broaden the range of marks we can make.
The workshop will allow plenty of time to draw from the model and practise with ink. All materials required for this workshop are included, though you may wish to bring a folder to take your drawings home in. Tutor Lancelot Richardson will be available throughout the workshop to offer assistance and feedback.
This workshop runs from 10am-5pm with a 1 hour break at 1pm-2pm and additional shorter tea breaks.
